Yvonne Kaye Pipkins-Wormley was born on October 12, 1957, in Matador, Texas to Pete and Loretta Pipkins. She attended Hilltop Elementary, Samuel Elementary, and Caver Junior High School. She worked at Brite-way Cleaners for 10 years. Vonn loved the Dallas Cowboys and did not mind letting it be known. She loved her family and enjoyed family gatherings. She loved her daughter and grandchildren; in her eyes, they could do no wrong. She loved watching Lifetime and all her criminal shows, Law & Order and Blue Sky. One of her favorite things to say was “Two wrongs don’t make it right.” She would always say, “God has been good to me, honey!!!”
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Loretta Pipkins; half sister, Leatrice Ragster from Carthage, TX; grandparents, Ebb and Evelyn Titus; two sisters, Ossie Titus and Marilyn Buris; three aunts; and two uncles.
She leaves to cherish many wonderful memories: her daughter, Gabrielle Boxten-Breven Johnson, Sr.; two granddaughter, Kyana Boxten-Rodrick, and Zinyah Williams; one grandson, Breven Jr.; one great-granddaughter, N’Ryha Boxten, all of Lubbock, Texas; one sister, Mary Ann Pipkins; one brother, Donald Roy Pipkins, both of Amarillo, Texas; one and only special niece, Tiffany “Granny” Randle of Amarillo, Texas; nephews, Jerome (Phoenix), Jermaine, and Harrison of Amarillo, Texas; Fanti, Heidi, Destiny, Shatae, Liris, and Ms. Ann, to whom she was a loving mother figure; one special sister-in-law, Sarah Boxten-Harper; a host of cousins; and untold numbers of friends.
