Wanza Faggins was born on January 18, 1951, in Pampa, Texas, to Hubert and Alberta Woods. Our beloved Wanza passed away on July 23, 2025.
Wanza was a graduate of Pampa High School and went on to work at IBP for over twenty years. Later, she served the residents of The Clairmont Retirement Center with dedication and care for fifteen years before retiring.
Wanza was a faithful member of Saint John Baptist Church in Amarillo, Texas. She was full of joy and especially loved to dance. Above all, she was a devoted and loving mother, granny, nana, honey, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend.
She was preceded in death by her son, Toby Woods, her parents, Hubert and Alberta Woods; her sisters, Ernestine Freeman, Irish Streat, Henry McKinnon; brothers, Jack Woods, Ronald Woods.
Wanza leaves to cherish her most precious memories her three children: Tim Woods (Dena) of Amarillo, Texas; Terry Christian (Charles) of Carrollton, Texas; and Tony Christian (Brian) of Desoto, Texas; and Terranice Hearn of Amarillo, Texas. She is also survived by her brother, William Woods of Denver, Colorado; her grandchildren: Brittney, Lindsay, Brian, RayVon, Charles, Jordan, and Rylee; great-grandchildren; Jazmyah, Carter, and Uriah; along with a host of loving family members and dear friends.
No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord. ~Isaiah 54:17
