Walter Dixon Obituary

Walter Dixon was born May 9, 1932, in Kilgore, TX to Ruben Dixon and Lorene Choice. Walter was a retired roofer of 65 years and had several other odd jobs. He was a fun-loving husband, father and friend. He knew no strangers and would help anyone. He loved working on cars, fishing and traveling. He found all of his siblings he had not seen in years.

Walter is preceded in death by Dorothy Dixon, two daughters; Linda K. Champion and Patricia A. Cherry, one brother; Tom Dansby and one sister; Viola Whiting.

He leaves to cherish his memories, wife; Ruby Nell Dixon of Amarillo, four brothers; Burnice R. Dixon of Wills Point, TX, Eddie Dansby of Amarillo, TX, Sammy Dansby of Hollis, OK, and Robert Dansby of Minden, LA, three sisters; Louise Gamble of Omaha, NE, Annie Mae Pettis of Amarillo, TX, and Rose Marie Taylor of Arlington, TX, six children; Walter Dixon Jr., Pamela S. Young, Sedelia G. Jackson (Alton), Maurine E. Johnson (Thomas), Timothy H. Dixon (Esther) and Wesley D. Dixon all of Amarillo, fifteen grand children and twenty-seven great-grandchildren.
