Teresa Gail Adams

On February 9, 1961, the world welcomed a new baby girl named Teresa Gail Adams. She was a good baby to her parents, Willie James, and Shirley Adams, with lots of hair and beautiful – inside and out.

With her being the only girl, her older brother and two younger brothers were her self-appointed honor guards. But also, being the only girl, she held her own with the guys. She was no one’s pushover! She graduated from Amarillo High in 1979 and explored a medical career as a hospital volunteer. Instead, she pursued a career in communications and worked for Southwestern Bell for several years.

Later in life, she made a home for her son, Tony. She expanded that home to others during difficult times, taking people in and providing shelter, food, and love to those in need. Through this venture, she discovered a love of cooking. And many others discovered they loved her cooking.

Gail was known for her big heart. Whether family, or a person in need of a family, she loved sharing what she had with others. She was a living example of when you give love away, you receive even more in return.

Her heart endured the passing of loved ones before her, including her father, Willie James Adams, her son, Anthony Gerome Adams, a great-nephew, and a great-niece.

And following her example, her loved ones that remain celebrate her life and legacy. Those include her mother, Helean Murkeldove, and step-father, Douglas Murkeldove, both of Amarillo; a special daughter, Sunya Bible of Amarillo; two granddaughters, Regan and Taiszhana; four brothers, Gary (Vicky) Adams of Houston; Gerald (Katrina) Adams of Amarillo; James Victor (Cynthia) Adams of Amarillo and Micheal (Sharonda) Robinson of Dallas; a sister, Tosha (James) Hardman of Dallas; and multiple nieces, nephews, family and friends too numerous to count.
