Sherman Ray Jr. was born early on Father’s Day morning on June 16, 1968, in Hale Center, Texas to Ella Smith and Sherman Ray, Sr. He graduated from Amarillo High School and also won a state Basketball championship. He attended Cisco Junior College, Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry and Biology in 1997. Sherman worked for Autoplex in Amarillo, Tx, Patterson BMW in Wichita Falls, TX, and Lastly Sewell BMW in Grapevine, Tx. He loved taking his father and sons fishing in Palestine, TX. His favorite sports teams were the Dallas Cowboys and The Los Angeles Lakers. He was blessed with a large and loving family whom he enjoyed spending time with. Sherman was an educator at heart and was always there to help solve a problem no matter how big or small. He will be deeply missed by anyone who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Atlee and Eddie Smith of Hale Center. His father, Sherman Ray, Sr. of Amarillo, TX, and Nota Garland Ray of Plainview, Tx.

He is survived by his mother Ella R. Hager of Frisco TX; His children Sherman Deandre (Danielle) Ray III of Frisco, TX; Brennan (Angell) Ray, Tyler Fraser, Bailey Harrison of Amarillo TX; Bryce Harrison of Arlington, TX; Kriste and Stephany Fraser of Dallas, TX; sisters, Sheron L. (Robin) Ray of Seattle, WA; Felecia (Kirk) Jackson of Cedar Hill, TX; brothers, Roderick (Tosha) Diggs of Amarillo, TX; Keven Ray of Pflugerville, TX; stepmother, Billie Ray of Pflugerville, TX; and host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, grandkids, and friends.
