Rufus Whitaker

Rufus Whitaker was born July 3, 1961, to Sara Louise and Rufus Whitaker in San Diego, CA.

Rufus was a loving father, brother, uncle, and friend.  He was a giver, and you could count on him for anything.  He loved cooking meals and would give you the shirt off his back.  Rufus loved sending money to charities. 

He was a janitor and caregiver for many years, until his health failed him.  

He was preceded in death by his father, Rufus Ben Whitaker; mother, Sara Louise Whitakers; brothers, Minuard Moses, Eric Whitaker; sisters, Barbara Harris, and Debbie Whitaker.

He leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Shelia Asberry Whitaker; stepsons, Richard Cunningham, Jr., Darian Edwards, De’Veon Asberry, Leonard Coulter; daughter, Ti’erra Coulter; brother, Jeff Whitaker, Sammy Pinwkey; sisters, Deloris Whitaker, Betty Whitaker; Auntie Claudtte Davis; sixteen grandchildren, one great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
