Roxann Oages, born on February 11, 1976, in Amarillo, Texas, passed away on August 13, 2024, at the age of 48. She was a cherished mother, daughter, sister, and friend.
Roxann was a trendsetter and always dressed to impress. Her unique style and creative spirit was on display when she entered the room. Her siblings endearingly describe her as “bossy”, with a take-over spirit. Roxann loved being in charge. She was a natural leader with a nurturing side, always there to support and guide those around her to be their best selves. To her mother, she was her “running buddy” and her closest friend, spending countless weekends shopping, and designing DIY crafts. Roxann was a dedicated and hard-working mother. She contributed over twenty years of service to the American International Group (AIG) to support her three children. She retired in September of 2023. Her children remember her as ambitious and innovative, always making a way out of no way!
Her legacy is marked by persevering through a chronic illness for 26 years after being diagnosed with lupus in 1998. Roxann was a champion for everyone who fought the disease, leaving an indelible mark on everyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Billy Oages.
She is survived by her children, Nataziah, Shallah, and Khalil; mother, Glendell; siblings, David, Cassandra, Vanessa, Keenan, and Cheri; grandchildren, Naijah, Azul, and Galilea; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. Roxann will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
