Rita Frazier Obituary

Sister Rita Jo Frazier was born November 17, 1950, to Alma and Isom Hayes in Shamrock, Texas. She married Lawrence “Baba” Frazier on January 24, 1975. They were married for 52
years and raised five children. Sister Rita attended Galilee Church of God in Christ (Elder Willie Jackson) and gave her life to Christ in 1982. She was the announcement clerk and choir president. She lit up any room with her beautiful smile. She had five children but was a mother figure to many. When visiting her home, before you left she would invite you to church or ask if you can sing in
the choir. Her life and the love she had for her Savior, family, and friends will live on for many years. Her message to all her children, grand, and great-grandchildren is to remember what she always said before every day of school, “Study hard, be smart, and keep a prayer on your mind.”

Sister Rita Frazier was preceded in death by her mother, Alma Hayes; father, Isom Hayes; husband, Laurence “Baba” Frazier; brother, Charles Thomas; and grandson, Lamarcus Frazier-Harp.

She is survived by sister, Patsy Thomas of Denton; brother, Fred Thomas of Hopkinsville, Kentucky; five children, Paul Frazier of Illinois, Shunja Frazier (Tendrick Porter) of Carrollton, Texas, Tammy Frazier, Larita Frazier, and Tyrin Frazier all in Amarillo, Texas; twelve grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren; and five children-in-love, Sonya Reed, Laurence Frazier, Jr., Clara Smith, Tanisha Levi, and Shawn Frazier.
