Phillip Edward Cleveland Johnson Obituary

Phillip Edward Cleveland Johnson, affectionately known as “Cory” to all of you, was born in Galveston, TX to the late Edward and Peggy Lee Johnson, on September 15, 1980. He passed away on November 28, 2022, at 42 years of age. Cory spent his earlier years in Wellington, TX before moving to Amarillo, TX. He earned his high school diploma and then went on to attend Amarillo College to study business. He took pride in working for himself, taking risks, and testing the boundaries. He lived life unapologetically on his own terms. Wherever he went, he was always the life of the party, and he knew he was the coolest in the room. He kept people rolling in laughter because he could find humor in the most mundane life circumstances. He enjoyed
sports, music, video games and foreign cars. However, he was most passionate about cooking and often made Sunday dinner at his home for his family and friends; he was an excellent cook. It did not matter who you were, you could count on three things: good fun, good drinks, and a good time. Cory was blessed with a large and loving family. However, what he loved most of all were his children. He found beauty in his children, becoming the father of nine. He will be remembered for his intellect, wit, zest for living and wide-ranging interest. He was an optimist and a risk taker. His life was a testament to the power of love, the strength of family, and the impact one person can have on the world around them. He will be deeply missed, but the memories he created will forever live on.

Phillip Edward Cleveland Johnson – “Cory” to all of you, is survived by his nine children: Darnell Donald, Tre’Saun Brown, L’Travion Brown, Ja’Coryan Johnson, Charkaviona Johnson, Kor’Davian Johnson, Cory N. Johnson, Stetson Johnson, and C’Ari Johnson, four grandchildren, brothers Maurice Johnson, Lois Johnson; and Marcus Johnson. Sisters, Margaret Johnson, Marilyn LaShaun Moore (Tino) and Shamara Moore. As well as numerous relatives and friends. He was proceeded in death by siblings Patricia Johnson, and Morris Johnson and his parents, Edward and Peggy Lee Johnson.
