Brother Perry L. Floyd, Jr., son of the late Perry L. Floyd, Sr., and Helen Polk, was born February 19, 1939, in Omaha, NE. He relocated to Chicago in 1943 at a young age and was raised by his loving family and attended and graduated from Chicago public schools. After graduation, he joined the United States Navy, where he was honorably discharged after six years. Once discharged, he returned home and began working as an Advertising Executive for a magazine publishing company. He relocated again to Denver, CO, and began working for Burlington Northern Railroad and met the love of his life, Kathy Perry. They later retired from the railroad. Kathy and Perry united in holy matrimony on October 1, 1982, and were married for 42 years. Perry was blessed to become a loving father to ten children. Perry loved playing chess, going fishing, anything pertaining to airplanes, and spending time with his family watching the Cowboys play.
He was preceded in death by his parents, several aunts, and uncles.
Perry Floyd, Jr., will be lovingly remembered by his one brother, Marvin Floyd of Chicago, IL; one sister, Barbara Brunson of Wichita, KS; six daughters, Kimberly Copeland (Anthony) of Chicago, IL, Leslie Berot (Hayden) of McDonough, GA, Mari Kristen Floyd of Denver, CO, Nikki P. Floyd (Kenneth) of Denver, CO, Jeri D. Floyd-Beckford of Manchester, CT, and Shamicka Scott (Levie) of Amarillo, TX; four sons, Camon Perry (Labrina) of Amarillo, TX, Kevin Floyd of Crowley, CO, Perry L. Floyd III (Jamie) of Amarillo, TX, and Michael Howard of Chicago, IL; twenty- nine grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren; and many nephews, nieces, other relatives, and loving friends. He’s gone but will never be forgotten. See you on the other side.
