April 14 th , 1942, a precious gift was born unto Johnnie Thirlkill and Paul Wilson. Given the earthly name Pauline. Pauline “Polly” as she was called by her close friends and Loved ones, graduated from Turner High School Class of “59” where she was an avid basketball player. On Tues July 30th, 2024, Pauline gained her wings. God gently whispered her name, and she heard his voice…. The words were, come home my child to your heavenly Father, your time on earth is finished (complete) She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband L.C. Britton, a brother Lovis Osbourn, son- Stanley & Son in law Alfonso. She leaves to cherish her memory daughter Paula Armstrong- of Amarillo (Alfonso) daughter Angela Allison of Desoto (Eric). Sister Fay Stubblefield (Michigan) 7 Grandkids India Warnsley, Jason Warnsley, Stanley Britton Jr, Shar‘Dae Britton, Alex Armstrong, A’Drein Armstrong & A’Dreonna Armstrong. 12 great grand kids and 3 great great grandkids and a host of other relatives and friends.
Pauline accepted Christ at an early age as a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church in Long Branch TX. Pauline would later meet and marry the love of her life L. C. Britton. To this union 3 children were born Stanley, Paula & Angela. After moving to Amarillo in 1974 she attended Langston Memorial Church of God in Christ where her late uncle Rev W. C. Thirlkill was her Pastor. She was an usher at Mt Zion Baptist Church for years and later moved her membership to (name of church) under the Pastorship of Herman Moore until her recent passing. Pauline was a dedicated chef for over 40 years working alongside Alfonso her son in law doing catering and serving the church with her delicious recipes most notably for her fried chicken and peach cobbler.
