Patricia Yvonne Davenport

Patricia Y. Lamar-Davenport, 76, passed away on Saturday, June 5,2021. Her Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, June 11, 2021, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Bishop Warren Coble, eulogist. Services provided by Golden Gate Mortuary, 1416 N. Hughes, Amarillo, TX.

Mrs. Davenport was born in Marlin, TX on September 1, 1944, to Ralph and Devorah Lamar, but spent 70 plus years of her life in Amarillo, Texas, she attended Drones Business College as well as Amarillo College. Patricia was a Head Start teacher at Hamlet Elementary School for several years before leaving to begin working as a Clerk at the Pantex Plant where she remained for over 20 years.  She was a lifelong member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board until her health started to decline.

Mrs. Davenport was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Lambert Lamar-Adams, and a brother, Donald Ray Lamar.

Her survivors include a daughter Roshanda L. Tinnin, of Amarillo, four grandchildren; Triston and Alyssa Tinnin, of Amarillo; James and LaBrina Adams of Tyler; sister-in-law, Delphine Lamar, of Amarillo, one niece, Donna Lamar, three nephews, Donald R. Lamar II (Elouise), Dale Anthony Lamar, and Derrick Lamar (finance BreAnn Oages); six great-grandchildren and three grand nieces.

She is also survived by a precious Cousin, Debbie Cornelius (Aaron) of Ft. Worth, Texas; her friend/sister Linda Vaughn (Alphonso), a Godson, Haywood Vaughn (Kamrin), and Michael Tinnin (former Son-In-Law) all of Amarillo.

Most importantly, Mrs. Lamar-Davenport was a woman who loved her family and spent her life providing for her children.

She leaves a host of life-long friends, extended family and a legacy that will remain strong to the finish.
