Pastor Robert L. Graves, a beloved servant of God and devoted family man, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of faith, service, and unconditional love.
Born December 6, 1946, in Chillicothe, Texas, to L.C. and Jessie Graves, Robert graduated from Carver High School in 1967, where he distinguished himself as a varsity football player. It was there he met his high school sweetheart, Bonnie, who would become his lifelong partner. Together, they built a beautiful family, raising four children: Denise, Robin, Melodie, and Brandon.
For 37 years, Robert served his community through his work at Pantex, but his true calling was serving the Lord. As a pastor, he touched countless lives with his captivating smile, moving prayers, and extraordinary capacity for compassion. Those who knew him will remember his selfless nature and willingness to give his last to anyone in need.
Robert's love for his family was evident in everything he did. He took great joy in celebrating life's moments with his wife, children, and grandchildren, whether through family barbecues, offering wisdom, or saying a prayer before important events. His passions extended to the simple pleasures in life, particularly tending to his beloved Corvette and enjoying rides on his motorcycle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, L.C. and Jessie Graves, and his brothers Cecil, Alan, and Donald Graves.
Robert's legacy lives on through his loving wife of 57 years, Bonnie; his children, Denise Brown (Bobby), Robin Graves, Melodie Graves, and Brandon Graves; his grandchildren, Thomas, Josh, Micah, and Ashton; his siblings, Gene (Vanessa), Jerry (Doris), Arthur (Kerri), Anthony (Angie), Charles (Angela), and Elsa Graves; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
His warm presence, generous spirit, and unwavering faith will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
