Pamela S. (Dixon) Young, was born March 24, 1958, in Amarillo, Texas, to Walter and Dorothy Dixon, Sr. She attended Carver High School.
She worked and retired from the Amarillo State Center (MHMR) where she enjoyed working with special needs patients. She formed a unique bond with the patients and their families. She would sometimes brim them to her home on the weekends. After retiring she worked as a private duty attendant. She went back to school in 2007, to become a pharmacy technician at Academy of Professional Careers. She really enjoyed taking care of others. Her last place of employment was for Amarillo AISD, she was a bus attendant for special needs children.
She is preceded in death by her husband; Paul Young, parents; Walter and Dorothy Dixon, Sr., two sisters; Patricia A. Cherry and Linda K. Champion, and her beloved grandmother; "Mother" Katie M. Fletcher.
She leaves to cherish her memories her brothers; Walter Dixon, Jr., Timothy H. Dixon (Ester); Wesley D. Dixon, sisters; Sedelia Jackson (Alton) and Maurine Johnson (Thomas), and a host of nieces and nephews that were all like children of her own whom she showered with love. She also leaves her many dear friends that were more like family to her, and her best companion; Buddy.
