Otis Lee Anthony was born February 22, 1941, in Tallahassee, Florida to Rueben and Rose Belle Anthony. He was their only child. He carried many titles with his family and friends. He was a humble man who carried himself with dignity and style. His early morning meditation with the Lord was "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.” He was a man of integrity and lived by the golden rule “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” Matthew 7:12. With his sudden death on January 16, 2025, God called him home.
He joined the military in 1959, the United States Air Force where he served his country and honorably retired in 1983. The late Mr. Rump was a mentor who played a role in his decision to enlist in the Air Force. He served both on the active and civilian levels. He dedicated 41 years of service. He travelled the world, to 48 states.
He met the love of his life Kathleen Bailey in 1959 and married August 12, 1961, in Amarillo, TX. He loved his wife and four children Diane, Teresa, Rosie and Mark.
He united with New Testament Baptist where he was a faithful member and he served as a chaplain, trustee, finance committee and deacon unto death. He loved his church and the members.
He was an honorary brother to the Masonic lodge #109 Lompoc, CA., VFW, American Legion, M.W. Prince Hall Grand Lodge. He enjoyed karate where he ranks a black belt with Ginlek
Judo/Karate Association. He was into health fitness and loved doing his tybo exercises, kickboxing and running cross country.
He also received his Associate degree in Arts from American River College in 1987. Many certificates of training in the Air Force.
Otis never met a stranger. His big smile was contagious, and he loved to laugh. His big heart for people was genuine. He was loved and adored by many. He was an adventurous man who
loved to travel, love to eat, listening to music (he was a DJ), his Cyberwize business (2004-2009), friends and to relax at home. He and his furrbaby (ziggy) relaxed and ate together. His free spirit allowed him to enjoy life despite his health.
He was preceded in death by both parents Rueben and Rose Belle Anthony, his aunt Louise
Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years Kathleen Anthony; his children Diane Faulkner (Jim) of Irmo, South Carolina, La Teresa Robertson of Oakland, Calif. Rose Anthony-Shaw (Mickey) of
Amarillo, Texas, Teresa Clemons and his only son Mark Anthony; numerous grandchildren Tyrone Otis (Mary), Latoya (Robert), Marcus, Aisha (Randy) Charles (Michelle) great-grandchildren Alizay, Jeremiah, Micah, Joyce, Angel, Kirin, Xayden, Nolan and Amir. great, great children, a host of nieces and nephews and all his in-laws.
