James was born on November 9, 1944, in Kumasi Ghana to Otumfuo Sir Osei Agyemen Prempeh II, Asantehen and Oheneyere Lady Mary Prempeh. James was a keen agriculturist that traveled the world working and studying in several different countries, such as England, Wales, Denmark, and Australia before landing in the USA. After studying abroad, he landed at the University of Minnesota where he met the Beechers; beautiful friends that became family. They all moved from Minnesota to the Amarillo area and James began working at BPI.
In 1994, he met Joyce High and they married in 2004. At which time he became the loving father of three daughters. James continued working with agriculture until he retired in 2019.
He is survived by his wife: Sylvia Joyce High-Prempeh, daughters: Jontal High, Jour’Dan Gardner, Janelle Gardner, grandchildren: Jay’Lin High, Jaxson Gardner, Julianna Hill and Justice Hill.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Otumfuo Sir Osei Agyeman Prempeh II, Asantehen, Oheneyere Lady Mary Prempeh and his brother Oheneba Edwin Prempeh.
The family extends a sincere thanks and appreciation to everyone for their support and expression of kindness and encouraging prayers. The family would like memorials in Mr. Prempeh’s name to be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
