Fredonia Wartrenia Hunnicutt was the 7th child born to Odell, Sr., and Lucy Meadows on the 25th day of June 1942.
Fredonia, commonly known as Fred by her coworkers and Sista babe by family, was born in Idabel, OK. At the age of 7, she moved to Wellington, TX, for the family business. She worked for Bob Goforth at the Cherokee Inn and was employed by St. Joseph's Hospital, aka Collingsworth General Hospital, in 1969. She was employed there for 26 years. She held positions as a surgical tech with Dr. Emsley Davis and at the Shamrock Nursing Home in the early 90s. She received various educational achievements from Booker T Washington School, ongoing continuous education from Amarillo College, and she received a track athletic scholarship from Prairie View A&M University. She was a cheerleader, athlete, and choir leader during her years at Booker T. Washington.
She married the only love of her life, R.L. Hunnicutt on March 26, 1960. She fell to the courtship of a red apple brought to her during long work hours in the fields. Their union produced five children, Silvia, Mark, Traci, Jodi, and R.L., II (Snapper).
One of her greatest achievements in life was accepting her calling to minister the Gospel in 1988. She received the confirmation of her calling through the sign of a white dove in her window seal that she should minister God's Word.
She was preceded in death by her father, Odell (Papa) Meadows, mother, Lucy (Madea) Meadows; sisters and brothers, Verdia M. Hughes (Momma Tip), W.T. Meadows, Effie Williams, James (Poochie) Meadows, Lutrenia (Tootah) Tennison, Odell Meadows, Jr, Betty Ogbolu, Roscoe Meadows; husband R.L. Hunnicutt, I, and two children Mark Hunnicutt & Traci Hunnicutt; granddaughter, Kamryn Faith Shade.
She will always be cherished by her children, Silvia (Steve) Gardner, Gastonia, NC, Doris Thomas, Hollis, OK, RL, II (Paulette) Hunnicutt, Oklahoma City, OK, Jodi (Jimmye) Bookman, and Meisha Hunnicutt, Wellington, TX. She was loved by twenty grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one sister, Sally (TJ) Jones and the Entire Meadows Family members and a loving host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
