Melvin attended school in Kermit, TX where he played baseball and basketball. He was born in Vernon, Texas. His greatest love was going fishing and camping out. He was employed by Owens Corning and Zachry Industrial Incorporation in Borger, Texas. He also loved his pets and most of all loved his Cowboys. He enjoyed entertaining his friends and family. He was just a “classy man”.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother.
Melvin leaves to cherish his memories his son, Melvin Parker Jr. (Shameka); six daughters, Mina Parker, Houston, Texas; Nana Parker, Sim Port, Louisiana; Shannon Willis, Casa Grande, Arizona; Ursula Dawn, Candice Glass and Katrina Glass, Amarillo, Texas; two brothers Doc Parker, Amarillo, Texas; Willie Hall, Pampa, Texas; three sisters, Ida Watts, Tulia, Texas; Mattie Russell, Tulia, Texas; Ophelia Brown (Curtis), Pampa, Texas; many grandchildren; a host of special beloved nieces, nephews and one special friend, Wanda Jo Williams.
