Mary Lee Cook

Mary Lee Cook was born in Amarillo Texas to Allen Ford and Brenda Cook on December 1, 1965.

As a child Mary was known as a sweet and active young lady. She enjoyed sports and playing outdoors with her siblings. Mary had a love for fashion and expressing her personality through clothing. Mary loved to sing and dance. In High School, Mary enjoyed English Arts, running track, and other sports like volleyball. Mary was known to be an honor student. She graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1984. While incarcerated, Mary received many certificates of completion in many courses related to bible studies and personal development.  

Mary was a vibrant and caring woman. Mary was also very spiritual and shared her love for God with those around her. She is well known for her radiate smile and laughter that could fill the room. Mary is known for being smart and determined. After the loss of her father, she experienced different challenges in life. Even through these challenges she was known as a fighter and kept her faith in God.

Mary departed this life January 18, 2022. She preceded in the afterlife with her grandmother, Mary Joe Brockington; grandfather, Jessie Brockington; father, Allen Bernard Ford, uncle, Robert Lorenzo Cook; aunt, Tuwana Cook; sister, Anita Ford.

Mary’s legacy included her two beautiful children, Jessica Barnes and Chloe Johnson.

Mary is survived by her mother, Brenda Cook; aunt, Marie Gordon, aunt, Yvonne Brockington; sister, Rita Cook; sister, Alva (Legail) Allen; brother, Leonard Cook; nieces, Tashanna Cook, Britta White, Nicolette White; grandchildren: Leangel Washington, Jakada Barnes, Keishawn Barnes, and Imani Marsh, and many other relatives.
