Mary Etta (Johnson) Blair

Mary Etta Blair departed this life on the morning of Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at the age of 74, in Amarillo, TX. She was born to Tommie Lee Johnson and Willetta Johnson Pottard on January 16, 1948, in Hill County, TX. Mary married Vernell, her beloved husband of 55 years, on October 15, 1967. Mary was a dedicated mother to her three children, treasured her grandchildren, and loved her role as Nana. Mary was a God-fearing woman. She was an active member of North Heights Church of Christ where she devoted her life to the church and used her faith to help bring others closer to Christ. Her life was a living example of Ephesians 4:32 – “And be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.” Mary was a generous, loving, and kind woman who welcomed everyone into her heart and home. Mary enjoyed studying the bible and fellowshipping with others. She was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing. Everyone who knew and loved Mary will remember her for her ability to give grace and her undying love and caring for them. 

Mary will forever be cherished by her husband, Vernell, her children, Vern Lamont Blair, Dana Johnson, Teresa Perez, her grandsons, Nicolas, Joshua, Devin, and Naethen, her granddaughters, Joi and Alayna, her mother Willetta Johnson Pottard, and her four brothers and seven sisters. She also leaves behind a great number of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
