On November 2, 1987, God blessed Beatrice and Edward in Amarillo, Texas with her second addition to her family, Marquis. He was a beloved son, father, brother, cousin, and friend. He attended Amarillo public schools. Marquis was self- employed and cared for his mother during and after work. He loved to spend time with his kids and play video games. He always had a joke to tell, and his smile would light up the whole room. During his childhood, he loved to ride his bike all over Amarillo.
He was preceded in death by his father Edward Gilbreath, Jr. and three grandparents: Mary Tippet, his papa, Tippet Edward Gilbreath Sr., a great grandmother, Gladys Tippet, and Uncle Ronnie Foster.
Quis is survived by his loving mother, Beatrice Tippet, stepfather, Jimmy Smith; two children, Tuandra Johnson Tippet and Malachi Johnson Tippet; his loving grandmother, Vurnell Gilbreath; six brothers, Keith, Jimmy, and Kirk Tippet, Tarik, Edward III., Edmund Gilbreath; nine aunts, Valencia Foster, Lubbock, TX, Victoria Scott, Jacksonville, Florida, Dorothy Pearlie, Gloria, Beverly, Linda, Shelia, and Gilda; three uncles, Vandell Foster, Maurice Orlando(Chop) Gilbreath; two very close cousins, Edward Henderson and Triaston Foster; a close friend, Jawaan Grady and a host of family and friends.
