Markell Davarion Dawane Toombs-Reed was tragically taken from his earthly temple and united with his Heavenly Father on January 26, 2023, at the age of 24. Born October 6, 1998, to Kissey Cummings and Michael Reed. Markell stole the heart of his parents at first sight. His peaceful and caring personality made him easy to love and a complete joy to be around. While our hearts are completely shattered, we know that God needed one of his most precious treasures back.
Markell attended Amarillo High School. His big heart and infectious smile allowed him to make an impact on every soul he touched. He loved his family, he loved his daughter, he was a kind respectful young man who brought light into every room he entered. He attended Greater Love Temple and served on the church drumline and the youth department. Markell was a technology genius and often helped others when needed. Many of us will remember him rapping and always having a good time.
He is proceeded in death by his great grandparents, Anita Vinson, and Dorothy Durham. Markell leaves behind to cherish his memory, his parents, Kissey Cummings, and Michael Reed, both of Amarillo. His daughter, Marellie Reed (Azelia), sister Moneasha Toombs, his brothers, Micheal Reed and Montrell Reed, his grandmothers, Marilyn Toombs and Debra Reed, and a host of uncles, aunties, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
