Margie Sue Brown A.K.A “Muh” was born July 4th, 1935 to the late Mrs. Edwina Holmes and Mr. John Mahone. She attended East Street High in Opelika, Alabama before moving to Chicago, Illinois where she met her late husband, Johnnie Brown. In 1964, she moved to Amarillo, TX. She worked as a healthcare provider. However, babysitting was her passion, so she opened an in-home child daycare. She was a loving person. She loved all her family and friends and did whatever she could for them. If you needed a place to stay, or a meal to eat, she was your go to. She was a “BOLD” woman, and she feared absolutely nothing. Whether she knew you or not, she would call you out on your nonsense. She was ambitious, independent, and confident. She meant what she said, and she said what she meant. She lived in the little pink house on the left corner of eleventh and Polk and stayed there until it was her time to go dance with the angels.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Mrs. Edwina Holmes and John Mahone, one brother: Macy Mahone, one sister: Junell Calloway, two great grandchildren, Angelica Johnson and Baby Fashion, and her lovely daughter: Annette Mahone.
She is survived by her sister: Ann Mahone, grandchildren: Angela Brown, Drena Bradley, Felecia Dotie, greatgrandchildren: Sharmara Johnson, Kyeshawnna Mahone, Tayashawnnia Mahone, Kavontayae McCoy, Ceddrick Taylor, Myracle Bradley, Nehimiah Bradley, three great great grandchildren: Jau’Zai Johnson, Kah’Lani Mahone, Ava Ducksworth, a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
