Lorenzo Smith was born January 16,1944, to Willie Melvin Smith and Minervia Smith in Clarksville, Texas. He moved to Amarillo, Texas, in 1947. He attended Carver He retired from IHS and AISD in 2010 as a custodian. On August 30, 2005, he married Jean Smith. He enjoyed country/soul music and taking long rides in the country.
He proceeded in death by his father: Willie Melvin Smith and mother: Minervia Smith, daughter: Charity Powell, son: Lorenzo Smith, Jr., wife: Jean Smith, three brothers: Henry, Marvin (Maggie) Willie Melvin Smith, Jr., sister Serena Harper, nephew: Marvin Harper, and niece: Denise Smith.
He is survived by his daughters: Bobbie Scott (Jamar) Amarillo, Texas, Loretta Delgado Amarillo, Texas, Teresa Glenn (Stephen), Lillington N.C Valeda London Amarillo, Texas, Lela London of Lubbock, Texas, Doug Mitchell of San Antonio, Texas, Phyllis Nichols (A.J) twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-three great great children, and a host of relatives and friends.
