Lonzil Bruce Brittain was born in Abernathy, Texas on July 23, 1959, to Reuben and Maude Pickard Britton. He joined with Bethel Baptist Church at an early age. He attended school in Abernathy, Texas and excelled in baseball, football, and track. He later enlisted in the United States Army, performing duty in Korea. He took great pride in his military career. After selflessly serving his country, Lonzil returned to Texas, and he made Amarillo his home. While in Amarillo, he attended Amarillo Technical College and studied electronic and mechanical engineering.
He enjoyed traveling and was an electronics hobbyist. He was compassionate and loving toward his loved ones. He will be deeply missed by friends, family, and all he knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents as well his daughter, Emily Bean; his sister, Vicki Lynn Smith; and his brother, Reuben Manuel, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memory: Mary Bryant of Amarillo, Texas; his sons, Brandon, Lamar, and Jamar Britton of Amarillo, Texas; his sisters, Shirley Britton of Atlanta, Georgia and Gwen Bagley of Lubbock, Texas; his brothers, Charles Wilson of San Angelo, Texas and Danny Britton of Denton; his nine grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends; his nephews, Chad Wilson, Christopher Britton, Marsaius Britton, Brinson Bagley, Shawn Thomas, and Chandler Bagley; and his nieces, Dawn Okoro, Brionia Bagley, Shaturi Bagley, Taneka Stansbury, Tarynn Westcott, Jazmine Britton, Naomi Britton, Anitra Wilson, Ruby Manuel, Brandy Wiggins, Adria Manuel, and Jackie Stitt.
