Mrs. Lillie Pearl Gilmore changed worlds and swapped lives on January 24, 2022.
Lillie was born in Clarksville, TX; on November 29, 1944, to Joe Wooten and Hattie Jackson. She attended Caney Well Community School system in Clarksville, TX. Lillie was a member of New Hope Baptist Church for over thirty-seven years. She retired from AISD as a cook and then went to work at Children’s Learning Center until she fell ill. Lillie married Harold Gilmore on February 22, 1961; six children were born to this union.
She is preceded in death by her husband: Harold Gilmore, Sr., father: Joe Wooten, mother: Hattie Hurd, stepfather: Lon Hurd, brothers: Leroy and Silas Hurd, sister: Ocleta Chandler, sons: Randy Gilmore and Jeffery Gilmore, and grandson: Eric Gilmore.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her sons: Harold (Keeshi) Gilmore, Jr., of Amarillo, TX; Joesph (Veronica) Gilmore of Arlington, TX; Troy (Camelia) Johnson of Amarillo, TX, daughters: April Gilmore of Amarillo, TX; Corliss (Shawn) Harris of Amarillo, TX; brothers: William (Renee) Hurd of Dallas, TX; Lon Hurd of Dallas, TX; Calvin Hurd of Amarillo, TX; Olaf Hurd of Amarillo, TX; sisters: Darlene “Lena” Douglas of Raytown, MO; Sarah Jean (Charles) Bates of Arlington, TX; Larita “Sha” (Ray) of Hallsville, TX; one brother-in-law: John Chandler of Amarillo, TX; one daughter-in-law: Barbara Gilmore of Amarillo, TX: fourteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
