Lena Dickerson Obituary

Eeclerie Ilena Marie Criss was born in Marshall, TX, on January 5, 1932, to Sam Criss and Susie Davis Criss. Upon her mother parish at three years old, her father migrated their family to Ft. Worth, TX.

She attended Amanda McCoy Elementary, James E. Gwen Middle School, and I. M. Terrell High School. She was a loving and devoted mother of six children, Ronald, Marcia (Ernest), Vickie, Bridgette (Virgil), Jerrilyn, and Regina.

She also nurtured and raised her great-granddaughter, Delisha, as a motherly figure.

She was wedded in holy matrimony to John Clarence (JC) Dickerson, moving from Ft. Worth to Amarillo. She was a certified nurse aide at Olsen Manor until her retirement. Mother Dickerson was a woman of faith. She loved the Lord with all her heart. She enjoyed praise, worship, and just being in the Lord’s house. She was a dedicated pillar and active
member of Victory Temple Church of God in Christ for over
40 years.

She was an amazing woman, walking according to His Word in her every day walk in Christ.

She was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, living to oversee five generations within her luren, leaving a legacy of love behind. She was the matriarch of our family! We were blessed to be graced with her 94 years of life. She is living in each one of us. We will miss her angelic smile and miss her physically, but we are reassured her
soul is dwelling in Heaven, resting at peace.

Mother Dickerson was a rare, treasured gem, our jewel of joy. From the bottom of our hearts to the deepest of our souls, we pledge to keep her alive within ourselves and cherish her memory forever. She has graced this earth, conquered the tedious thing called life, and now she dwells in the house of the Lord. JOB WELL DONE!

She was preceded in death by her husband, John (JC) Dickerson; grandparents, Tom and Mattie Davis; mother and father; brothers, Sam Raymond Criss, Jr., Marvin Criss, and Willie Whitler; son, Ronald Williams; granddaughter, QuiRanda Woods; and best friend, Ella Montgomery.

Special Recognitions to:

Vickie Sharp, her victorious daughter, who has been her caregiver until she transitioned to glory! We as a family express our gratitude of appreciation for displaying compassion, empathy, love, and care. We love you!

Bridgette and Virgil Brown, Sr., daughter and son-in-law, for the endless support system and backbone of the entire family. We love you guys!

Special thanks to the assisted living Northwest Village for accommodating her stay throughout the years.
