Lawrence Wayne “Baba” Frazier was born March 28, 1949, to Housteen and Virgina Frazier in Clarksville, Texas. He later moved to Amarillo at the age of three. He attended North Heights Elementary School, Carver High School, and graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1968. He was employed at ASARCO for thirty years before retiring. He was a member of Galilee Church of Christ. He was married to his wife, Rita, for 51 years.
Lawrence Wayne “Baba” Frazier was a hardworking man who loved his family and always made sure he met every need they had. His word was what he said and what he meant, but he was always a loving person. His word was “as serious as a plane crash”.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Housteen and Virgina Frazier of Amarillo, Texas; grandmother, Wilma McCoy; brothers, Larry and Kenneth Frazier; sister, Linda Dunn of Amarillo, Texas; son, Lawrence Wayne Frazier, Jr., of San Antonio, Texas; and two grandchildren, Lamarcus Frazier-Harper of Amarillo, Texas and Marianna Levi of El Paso, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Rita Frazier of Amarillo, Texas; children, Sonya Reed of Arlington, Texas, Paul Frazier of Carbondale, Illinois, Shunja Frazier of Dallas, Texas, Shawn Frazier of San Antonio, Texas, Clara Smith of Amarillo, Texas, Tanisha Levi of Denver, Colorado, Tammy Frazier, Larita “Baboo” Frazier, and Tyrin Frazier, all of Amarillo, Texas; brothers, Stevie (Toni) Frazier, Donald (Francis) “PeeWee” Frazier, both of Amarillo, Texas, and Ricky (Nancy) Frazier of Grand Prairie, Texas; sister, Brenda Frazier of Plano, Texas; thirty grandchildren and forty great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.
