Obituary LaVonia Gage Randle, 99, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025. She was born on December 13, 1925, in Taylor, Texas, to Ollie Sr. and Artie Gage, both of whom preceded her in death.
LaVonia attended Blackshear High School, where she met and married Ernest Randle, with whom she shared 63 years of marriage until his passing. To this union, thirteen children were born.
In addition to her parents and husband, LaVonia was preceded in death by two sons, Richard Allen (Pearlie Mae) and Dennis Lamar (Evelyn); two daughters, Ernestine Marie Gonzales and Sharon Denise Randle; a daughter-in-love, Tiffiny Kay Randle; four brothers: Ollie Jr., Tommy, James, and Clifton Gage; three sisters, Ora Mae Kimble, Eva Robinson, and Alva Jean Jackson; two grandsons, Tommy Joe Gonzales and Dekendrick Randle; granddaughter, Towanna LaShon Maria Randle; two great- grandchildren, Tramaine Burks and Jaikayla Brown.
LaVonia leaves to cherish her memories three sons: Robert, Delmond, and Clayton Randle, all of Amarillo, Texas; six daughters, Gelinda Jones, Emma Danford, Evelyn Sherel, Bevelyn Randle, and Venna Swain (Greg), all of Amarillo, TX, and LaVonia Randle, Jr., of Lawton, Oklahoma. She also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.
In 1969, LaVonia and her family joined Emmanuel Church of God in Christ (C.O.G.I.C.) under the late Elder H.W. Cortez. She served faithfully in various ministries, such as president of the Sewing Circle, and the Sunshine Band, and as a dedicated member of the Home and Foreign Mission. Additionally, she served on the usher board and in the hospitality ministry, always with a spirit of love and service.
LaVonia’s life was one of dedication to family, faith, and community. She was known for her nurturing spirit, unyielding strength, and love for her children and grandchildren. Despite the many hardships she faced, LaVonia’s resilience and devotion to her family and church remained steadfast.
