L.E. McAdoo was born December 24, 1949, in Nevada, Texas, to the later T.V. McAdoo, Sr., and Georgia Lee Simmons. He attended Booker T. Washington and Plainview High School.
In L.E.'s younger years, he was an active member of what is now known as the Emmanuel C.O.G.I.C., where he sang in the church choir. He gave his life to Jesus at an early age and knew that "There is no love without God!", words that he shared in his final hours. He considers New Jerusalem Baptist Church to be his church home, and pastor H.K. Thomas to be his pastor.
When he wasn't doing what he loved most, gardening, L.E.'s favorite pastime was watching Western movies and wrestling. He also loved to cook and knew his way around the kitchen very well.
L.E. is preceded in death by his parents, T.V., Sr. and Georgia Lee; brother, T.V. "Sonny" McAdoo, Jr.; sister, Gracie Lee McAdoo and son, Stacy O'Brian McAdoo.
