Kay Gilbreath Campbell, was born January 22, 1947, in Telephone, Texas, to BC and Clara Gilbreath, Sr. She moved to Amarillo, Texas, when she was a baby. She attended North Heights and Hilltop Elementary School, and she graduated from High School. She went on to attend Claredon Junior College, Amarillo College, and Texas Southern College in Houston, Texas, where she majored in Child Care.
She united in marriage to Charlie Campbell, Jr., and three children were born.
She is preceded in death by her mother: Clara Gilbreath, daddy: BC Gilbreath, Sr., sister: Claudine Gilbreath Tillman, brother: BC Gilbreath, Jr., stepbrother: Thomas Henry, and nieces: Bertha Hauley and Debra Anderson.
She is survived by her husband: Charlie Campbell, Jr., two sons: Charlie E. Campbell, Darrell E. Campbell, one daughter: Mattie R. Campbell, one stepson: Rodney Smith, siblings: Renay Ashberry and Kirk Scott, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
