Obituary
Julio “Jr.” Mendez, Jr., was born on October 11, 2008, to Julio L. Mendez and Jacqueline R. Mendez in Oak Lawn, Illinois. Jr. had an old soul; the moment he was born, we knew he had been here before. Jr. loved his siblings and looked up to this dad. He loved his mom, he always made sure she was okay.
Jr. was the life of the party. He always made you laugh by telling a joke, being goofy, or just being Jr. When he walked into a room, the room would light up, and it was never a dull moment. He was loved by everyone he came across. He was popular and well known, even at the age of thirteen. Junior’s dream was to play in the NFL. He couldn’t wait to go to the seventh grade so he could play school sports.
He leaves to cherish his memory: parents, Julio Mendez, Sr., and Jacqueline Mendez; grandparents, Sixto Mendez, Jr., of Chicago, Illinois, Olivia Aguilar, both of Amarillo, Texas, Robert Gutowski, and Roxanne Gutowski, both of Chicago, Illinois; siblings, Julian Flores, Leileni Flores, Jovanni Flores, and Jordan Mendez, all of Chicago, Illinois; uncle, Robert (Sonya) Mendez of Amarillo, Texas; Brandi Gutowski of Chicago, Illinois; aunt, Daisy (Ricardo) Resendiz of Chicago, Illinois; special aunt, Tameka Harris of Amarillo, Texas; and a host of family and friends.
