Juan Alberto Martinez, Jr. was born on May 27, 1953, in New York, New York (Manhattan), to Juan Martinez and Benigna Ocasio. Juan attended Julia Richmond High School in New York. He later enlisted in the US Marines where he was awarded with a National Defense Service Medal and Riffle Expert Badge. He later moved to Amarillo, Texas, and worked for the City of Amarillo Transit Department for twenty-three years. In this time, he met his soulmate and love of his life, Jacqueline Harrison.
Juan was known for his witty character bringing joy and laughter to everyone around him. He loved bowling, baseball, fishing, camping, outings on the lake on his boat, and jet skiing. He was always busy, helping the OGs in the neighborhood. He even took care of his mother until her passing. Juan loved his family, especially spending time with his grandchildren. Juan knew how to put a smile on everyone’s face.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Juan Martinez and Benigna Ocasio.
He is survived by his sister, Olga Ceaser of Alburquerque, NM; son, Michael Martinez of Amarillo, TX; wife, Jacqueline Harrison and with this union three daughters, Kiannie (Taron) Auzenne of Phoenix, AZ; Amber Greer and Kiayra Greer both of Amarillo, TX; two sons, Dominic Greer of Phoenix, AZ; twelve grandchildren and a large extended family whom he loved and cherished very much.
