John Ransom was born to John and Jewell Ransom on January 7, 1946, in Mexia, Texas. John enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, shooting pool, playing dominos, grilling, and most of all his music. John retired from the railroad after thirty years of service. He loved telling his crazy railroad stories as well as the many joys his family brought him.
John married the love of his life Mary Ann Ransom on June 19, 1965.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Jewel Ransom, sister, Mennie, brother, Robert E. Ransom, and other family members.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Ransom two daughters, Marcella (William) Ray, ,Joannie Ransom, special daughter, ,Adrienne (Eric) Mims all of Amarillo, Texas, twelve grandchildren: Tiara (Bryson) McCuen, Idarius (Audrey) Ray, Karien, Anthony, Kiyara, Avery,, Aaren, Erin, Kamron, Ajaden, E.J., and Eriess, four great grandchildren: Taylor, Raymond, Teagan, and Braxtion, four brothers: George Ransom, Marvin Ransom, both of Amarillo, Texas, Wilbur Ransom and Elvis Ransom both of New Mexico, six sisters: Dorthy Wilson, Ruby Ollison, both of Texas, Alberta Shephard, Emma Archie, Anesta Champion, Jossie Jackson all of New Mexico and a host family and friends.
