Jimmie “Chop” Johnson was born November 12, 1952, in McKinney, Texas, to Clarence Let Mert and Frances Ann Dorsey. Jimmie graduated from McKinney High School, but also attended Carver High School. He graduated with his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Texas College, where he pledged Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
He loved to spend time with his family, friends, and was a lover of dogs. He would light up the room with his big smile and personality. He enjoyed listening to music, cars, sports, and was a former track star. He had a personal relationship with the Lord, and his favorite saying was, “Give God the Glory.”
He was preceded by his parents, Clarence Mert and Frances Dorsey and granddaughter, Catherine Lewis.
He is survived by his children, Christopher Evans, Jennifer Johnson of Amarillo, TX, Dustin Johnson of Frisco, TX, Terrell Johson of Fort Worth, TX, and Jahmececa Demerson of Aubrey, TX; eleven grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren; siblings, Cynthia Lemons of San Antonio, Roxie Diann and Molison (Skeet) Robinson, Jr., of Pampa, TX, Edna Fay Camel of Borger, TX, Troy Lee Grimes and Kevin Grimes of Pampa, TX, Billy Michael and Jeri Gimes of Denver, CO, Bobby La’Deal Dorsey of Pampa, TX, Kenneth “Moon” Ray Gage of Allen, and Vannessa Willison of McKinney, TX; and a host of other family and friends.
