Jim Andersen Obituary

Jim Soren Andersen, 64, of Amarillo passed away with his family by his side, July 2, 2021.

He was born in Rockford, Illinois, January 15, 1957. Jim married his first wife Penny Sue Wilson who preceded him in death in the year 2000. He served in the military for over 20 years. His over seas tours were in Korea and Iraq. Jim faithfully served his country as a mechanic and retired as a Sergeant. He was married to his beautiful wife and best friend Bonnie Andersen on June 6, 2006.

Jim was a friend to all and never knew a stranger, he would help anyone in need. But most of all he will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. Jim (pop) was retired but you would never know it, he spent his days enjoying time with his grandkids rather it be at a football or hockey game or taking them to the library or park.

Jim is also preceded in death by his parents and sister Janet Andersen. Jim is survived by his siblings Burt Andersen; Beverly Andersen; and Marilyn Andersen (Drought), and Ken Andersen.

He is survived by his children: Soren Andersen and children Christopher, Kaedan and Soren Jr.; Chad Andersen and spouse Stephanie and children Tyler and Emily; Somer Andersen and son Jordan; Eric Jasen Andersen, SFC, and spouse Chantell and children Elizabeth, Aiden, Gaven and Soren; Kimberly Brooks and spouse Sam and children Chloe, Rory and Abby; Tia Andersen and Spouse Avery and child Ernest; April McKenzie and children Joshua and Gabby; and Ronald Hicks, and a host of family members and friends.

All who knew of him and (or) the family are more than welcome to attend the service.
