Jerry Wright Obituary

Jerry “Wolf” Wright, beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, passed away on November 11, 2025, in Dallas TX at Baylor Hospital. Born in Sapulpa, Oklahoma in 1965. He was a proud member of the Chickasaw Nation and his heritage was an important part of his life and believed in God. Jerry lived a life filled with creativity, heart, and a love for the open road.

Jerry found freedom behind the wheel of a truck, where the long stretches of highway felt like home. He cherished the quiet moments on the open road, the sense of purpose in the miles he traveled, and the stories each journey gave him.

He had a gift for words and a unique way of offering advice that touched those who knew him. His family was the center of his life, and he loved them fiercely and without hesitation. He found great peace making memories with his kids by fishing and being outdoors.  Jerry shared an unbreakable, untouchable bond with his daughter Bailey, a connection that went far beyond that of a father and child. He wasn’t only her daddy, but her best friend, the person she could laugh with, lean on, and create with. Together they shared a deep passion for music and drawing, communicating through their art in a way that needed no explanation. Through melodies, sketches, and creativity, they could talk about anything, finding comfort, understanding, and love in the passions they held so close

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Wright; his sister, Rosa Lea Lamb; and his brother, Zane King.

He is survived by his children, Bailey Wright and Jansen Wright. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Paxton Weyer, Jayzon Wright, and Emmit Wright; his mother, Geraldine Cox; his sister, Joy Wright; his brothers, Hoyt McElroy, Blain McElroy, Clay McElroy and his wife Tonya, and James Logan, and wife Andrea; as well as many nieces and nephews who will remember him with love.

Jerry’s presence will be deeply missed, but his music, his stories, and his spirit will live on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him. His journey on the road may have ended, but the legacy he leaves behind continues forward.
