JAVON ALSTON was born to Brenda Alston and Derek Thomason on January 31, 1984, in Mineola, New York. He was the first-born son. Javon traveled the world through his childhood and even through his adolescence. He moved to Amarillo where he graduated from Panhandle Christian Home Educators in 2006. Javon was a jack of many trades. He installed gutters and did landscaping most of his adult career. The best trade he had was lending a helping hand, no matter anyone’s situation. Javon was a loving father to his daughter who he absolutely adored. He touched so many people since he was such a jokester. There wasn’t a person he couldn’t make smile. Javon had a heart of GOLD and was loved by many. He loved spending time with his daughter, girlfriend, and her children. He had a passion for flag football and that community will never be the same. The number 5 will always be a legacy forever treasured. He loved to go camping at Cimarron Canyon in New Mexico, and that place was his peaceful tranquility. Javon had a love for sports. His favorite teams were the Oakland Raiders and Los Angeles Lakers, but he always rocked that New York hat. He idolized Kobe Bryant. Another love he had was playing spades and dominoes with the people he loved.
On December 5, 2022, Javon was called home too soon.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Tremaine Haynes, and many other friends, who were like brothers, who have been called home too soon over the years.
Javon leaves his legacy to be cherished and remembered by his daughter, Jadielyn Alston of Amarillo; girlfriend, Brittaney Maddox; her three children, Ashlee Maddox, Camee Maddox, and Wyatt Maddox, all of Claude; mother, Brenda Alston of Amarillo; cousins, Kamin Wesson, Kambree Wesson, and Kylan Wesson of Amarillo; several aunts, many nieces, nephews, uncles, and a host of friends who were like family.
