ames Vernon Hood was born on April 4, 1953, to James and Rosie Hood, his beloved parents. J. V. attended North Heights Elementary School and Carver High School. His hobbies included junk cars which turned into his passion and great joy. J. V. became a mechanic because he truly loved working on cars. He enjoyed helping others by fixing their car.
J. V. was such a kind, quiet, and loving person who stayed to himself most of the time. He was a family man who loved his family and never fussed at anyone, not even a crazy look. He just laughed things off.
He was preceded in death by both his parents, James and Rosie Hood; and two loving sisters, Bernice Jenkins and Elizabeth Hood.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his five brothers, Horace Roger, Charles Hood, Dennis Hood, Robert B. Hood, and Tony Hood; four sisters, Betty Hood, Deloris Jones, Debra Harris, and Senobia Hood; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including his closest little friend, Buddy, his puppy.
