James Albert Brown, Jr., was born July 27, 1952, in San Antonio, Texas, to Helen (Yarbrough) Brown and the late James Brown, Sr. James attended high school in Fort Worth, Texas, and later enlisted in the US Army. Upon his discharge he settled in Plainview, Texas, where he joined the police fore and met the love of his life Kate “Ms. Thomas” Brown. They later married and created what he would call “The Brown Bunch”. James was a familiar face to everyone; he never met a stranger. He always had a joke and a nickname for everyone. He knew how to put a smile on anyone’s face.
He was preceded in death by his father James Brown, Sr., wife of forty years Katie B. Brown and younger brother, William Patrick Brown.
He is survived by his mother, Helen Brown of Fort Worth, Texas, children, Galen “Gee” (Christina) Brown of Glenn Heights, Texas, Sabastian (Tabby) Brown of Elk Grove, California, Felicia (Lucy) Thomas of Bryan, Texas, and Alesia (Shelly/Munchkin) Thomas of Phoenix, Arizona, sisters, Flora Brown, Jacqueline (Richard) Landrum, brother, Edward Brown all of Fort Worth, Texas, seventeen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and a host of family and beloved special friends.
