He was known by a number of nicknames throughout his life.  Many of his friends called him by "melow yellow, dirty red, clumsy dumbsy, smiley and wake him up." Then his family given him new nicknames to big baby, papa, pops, daddy, and last, but not least, Coach James. He bragged proudly of his three children Xavier Calhoun, James Anderson II and Tameisha Anderson and his lovely wife, Pamela Anderson, of 38 years. He adored his grandkids Blaze and Ace Anderson and James Anderson III they were the greatest gifts he could have ever asked for and kept him young. In addition, he treated the daughter-in-law, Jaslyn Calhoun, as if she were his own. His passion for sports developed over 30 years into Coach James.
