J.B. Baker was born to Leon Baker Sr. and Christine Baker on September 12, 1945, in Clarksville, Texas. He was the eldest of five siblings. He moved to Amarillo where he attended Carver High School, Class of 1964.
J.B. went on to become a supervisor at Affiliated Foods Inc. and later retired after more than 30 years of service.
J.B. was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His hobbies included grilling, fishing, playing dominoes, and watching the San Francisco 49ers.
On October 28, 2022, J.B. was called home to join his parents.
J.B. leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Georgia Baker of 29 years; 6 sons, Darryl Baker, DoShaun Baker, Jerome Baker Sr. (Kristen), Jeremy Baker, Carlton Kirkwood and Marcus Kirkwood all of Amarillo; 2 daughters, Christina Baker of Lewisville, TX and Cherié Perry (Jason) of Denton, TX; 4 brothers, Leon Baker Jr. of Amarillo, Charles Baker of Hereford, TX, Edward Baker and Kermiet Baker (Delois) of Amarillo; sister, Tabitha Baker of Amarillo; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, relatives and friends.
