Genell Wooten, beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed away on October 3, 2023, at the age of 67 in Amarillo, Texas. She was born on August 6, 1956, to the late Emma Mae Franklin.
Genell was a kind and caring soul who touched the lives of everyone she met. She had a passion for helping others. She was a selfless and hardworking individual who always put the needs of others before her own. Genell had a warm and welcoming personality that made everyone feel loved and accepted.
Genell was a fighter in her own right. She faced many challenges in her life, but she never let them defeat her. She was a strong and resilient woman who always found a way to overcome any obstacle.
In her free time, Genell enjoyed spending time with her friends. She also loved to cook and was known for her delicious meals that she shared.
She was a compassionate and dedicated to her Family and friends.
Genell is survived by her five siblings: Annie Marie Wooten, Patricia Jenkins, Shirley Neighbors, Henry Wooten, and Robert Wooten. She was preceded in death by her Mother Emma Mae Franklin and her brother Jeff Wooten.
She also leaves behind four children: Jira Sansom of Venus, TX, Lakisha Hooker of Forest Hill, TX, Byrice Sansom of Amarillo, TX, and Billy Earl Bates Jr. of New York City. She was a loving and devoted mother who will be deeply missed by her children and their families.
