Garnezar Timmons, Jr. was born April 4, 1956, in Amarillo, Texas, to the late Garnezar, Sr. and Velma René Timmons. He departed this life on Sunday, January 24, 2021.
Garnezar, Jr., affectionately known as “Junior” and “Junebug,” gave his life to Christ at a young age. He was educated in the Amarillo City Public Schools and faithfully and proudly served his country, in the United States Army, from February 1977 to November 1982. Subsequently, Junior worked at a number of companies, including Bell Helicopter and Sysco. He also volunteered at Cornerstone Outreach.
Junior had a bright smile, a great sense of humor, and shared a deep love for his family and friends. He enjoyed music, working with his hands mechanically to fix things, and playing practical jokes. He also loved spending time with kids and was known as a fierce protector of those he loved.
Junior is preceded in death by his mother, Velma René Timmons; his father, Garnezar Timmons, Sr.; his son Andre; his daughter, Kaitlyn Cook; his brother, Jimmy Dean Timmons; his sister, Sheril Timmons; his niece Chandra Jones; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Junior leaves to mourn his daughter Belle Cook; grandchildren, Addley and Anya; sister Rebecca; brothers Donald (Vanessa), William (Sherrie); Gregory (Pamela), and Fredrick; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and friends.
Junior will forever be missed and will always be in our hearts.
