Edward Dale Shaffer, Sr.

Edward was born October 24, 1961, to E.D. and Barbara Jean Shaffer in Amarillo, TX. His favorite sport was basketball. He played varsity his sophomore, junior, and senior year at Palo Duro High School, where he graduated in June 1980. Edward attended Clarendon College. He was later employed with Affiliated Foods for over 20 years and also Tyson Foods for a short period of time. He received several outstanding vocal awards in music, 1st place solo division at Palo Duro High School.

He loved attending sport activities and that is where he met his future wife Lauretta Michelle Bonam. They were married March 21, 1992 from and from this union Edward Jr. and Jaleisa Shaffer were born. The family began a ministry singing gospel music with little Ed playing the drums at different churches and many other gospel events. He enjoyed landscaping and home improvement in the community overall he enjoyed helping people. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; E.D. and Barbara Jean Shaffer, brother; Ethan Shaffer and grandmother; Mary Thompson.

He is survived by his son; Edward Jr., daughter; Jaleisa of Denton, TX, three brothers; Jonathan, Nathan, and Keemon Shaffer all of Amarillo, TX, and a host of family and friends.
