Douglas Martin Crow, Jr. passed away on April 18, 2023, at the age of 51 in Amarillo, TX. Douglas was born in Amarillo, TX to Mae Pearl and Douglas Martin Crow, Sr. His mom remarried when he was three years old, and he was blessed with an additional father in Jerrold Verge. Douglas, who was fondly known as Crow, attended Palo Duro High School where he was a star player on the basketball team donning the #33. Crow worked in maintenance for the City of Amarillo. Crow never met a stranger. He was a beloved community leader, husband and father who deeply loved his family and God. He was known for his love of sports, his love of America’s team the Dallas Cowboys, watching all PD Sports games and playing spades. Crow always dressed to impress, but it was his huge smile that would light up a room. Crow was a devoted usher at New Hope Baptist Church and his love for the Lord was evident in all that he did.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Demetria Grady; children, Princess Crow, Bruineasia (Barbie) Crow, Danielle Evans, Kendalyn Crow, Amaury Crow, Jawaan Grady, Shaneice Grady and Roshawnds Grady; mother and father, Mae Pearl and Jerrold Verge; brother, Clifton (Marluva) Lamont Verge; sisters, Jertrina Williams and Yolanda (John) Gardner; and a
host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Pearl Lee Wallace; grandfather, Aaron Wallace; father, Douglas Martin Crow, Sr. and his brother, Barney Evans.
