DeQuincton Tequan Taylor was born on May 21, 1995, to Nasha Taylor and Leonard C. Brackens in Amarillo Texas.
DeQuincton, also known as “Dee,” attended Hamlet Elementary School, Johnny Allen 6th Grade Campus, Horace Mann Middle School, and graduated from Palo Duro High School in 2013 and received an ACE scholarship. DeQuincton was currently enrolled in Amarillo College and expected to graduate and receive his Commercial Driver’s License on July 28th of this year.
During his high school year at Palo Duro, DeQuincton was an exceptional athlete. He lettered in Football and Basketball. Dee acquired some relationships with friends at Palo Duro that will be cherished for a “Lifetime”.
Dee was baptized at an early age at Greater Mt Olive Baptist church. He and his family were currently members of Amarillo for Christ Church where he accepted Christ as his personal savior. He was also part of the Men’s Ministry.
DeQuincton was first employed by the legendary Tee’s Music Production LLC., a family-owned business founded by his grandfather, the late C.T. Taylor. He and his Uncle Quincy Taylor carried out the legacy. He was also an entrepreneur and was employed by Toot N Totum, Affiliated Foods and Scottco. He enjoyed working at Scottco and learned many “hands on” skills.
DeQuincton became a father at a young age. He was very proud of his children and had an individual relationship with each of them. He will remain in their hearts forever.
DeQuincton and his fiancé, Erika also created many memories and had made many plans. DeQuincton was a well-respected and respectful young man. He was soft spoken but loved his family and friends hard.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Nasha Taylor, nephew, daughter, Zailee Rose Taylor, Lil Marrs Mathis grandfather, Curtis Tee Taylor, grandmother, Chinester Cook, great-grandfather, Henry C. Mitchell, and great-grandmother, Ruby Mitchell, great-grandmother, Mary Cotton
He is survived by his fiancé, Erika Martinez, sons, Zabrein Taylor, Zaiden Taylor Jaxen Taylor, and his baby girl, Mariella Monet Taylor, father, Chris Brackens, stepmom, Roshanna Brackens, grandmother, Rosie Taylor, grandfather, Lawrence Brackens, Sr., his sisters, LaQuanna Mathis (Morris), Navaeh Brackens, and Aniyah Brackens, brothers, Tre’Shaun McCampbell, Xavier McFalls, William Brackens, and Ethan Brackens.
DeQuincton will always be remembered as a fun and loyal son, grandson, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin, and a friend.
