Danny Lee Shead

Danny Lee Shead, born September 25, 1971, passed from this life leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to his family. Raised in Amarillo, Texas, Danny was the beloved son of John and Gwen Shead, who nurtured him with faith, strength, and deep family values.

Danny grew up in the heart of Amarillo, attending Gene Howe Elementary and Valley View Jr. High, before becoming a proud member of the second graduating class of Randall High School in 1990. His school years were filled with friendships, community, and the early signs of the kindness and humor that would define him throughout his life.

At a young age, Danny joined St. John Baptist Church, beginning a lifelong foundation in faith. As a teenager, he became a member of New Light Ministries. 

Danny was preceded in death by his cherished grandparents:

Maternal: Alphonso Finney and Ruby Lee Finney

Paternal: Levi Shead and Cornetta Shead

Danny lived a life rich with simple joys. He loved fishing, spending time with his family, and settling in to watch a good football game. His favorite color was blue, and he was a loyal fan of the Dallas Cowboys, cheering them on with passion every season.

He will be deeply missed by those who loved him most:

His sister, Silvia Shead

His nieces and nephews: Takirah Shead, Marquis Smith and John Treyton Shead (Ayana) Daniel Davis

Danny’s presence brought warmth, humor, and comfort to every room he entered. His memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who loved him.
