Chrestine Nickerson 70, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, July 29, 2025. Chrestine was born January 3, 1955, to Ruby and O. D. Nickerson, Sr. in Childress, Texas. She was a 1973 Graduate of Palo Duro High School in Amarillo, Texas. After high school Chrestine attended Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas, majoring in music therapy until 1976.
Chrestine attended and played the piano at several churches in Amarillo, Texas. She attended and played at Greater Mount Olive Baptist Church until her health declined. She worked at Northwest Texas Hospital several years and retired from Texas Panhandle CTRS For Behavioral & Developmental Health in 2017.
She was preceded, in death by two sisters, Joyce Nickerson Frost; Ruby Lee Nickerson Smith; three brothers, Roy Curtis Nickerson, Leonard Nickerson and O.D. Nickerson, Jr.
Survivors include two sons, Corey LaRoyce Nickerson, Rosharon, Texas and Courtney Donte Nickerson, Amarillo, TX; two brothers, Cecil Nickerson of Amarillo, Texas; Vernon Lee Nickerson (Francis) of Inglewood, California and a sister, Sandra Nickerson, Amarillo, Texas. Chres is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews, cousins and friends.
