Charles "Chicken" Taylor

Charles Lynn Taylor, 60, of Lubbock passed away on September 23, 2023. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 9, 2023, at Emmanuel Church of Amarillo, TX. Charles was born October 9, 1962, in Amarillo, TX to Curtis ‘Tee’ Taylor and Verna Marie Sanders. He attended Palo Duro High School in Amarillo and was a member of the varsity basketball team, and Midland High School in Midland, TX.

He loved to cook and was a chef by trade. Charles was a devoted child of God who loved to read his bible. He enjoyed spending time with family, and playing cards, dominoes, and was a skilled billiards player. He was hardly seen without a smile on his face.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jennell Taylor, and sister, Nasha Taylor.

He leaves to cherish his memory, a daughter, Natalie Sanders of Midland, TX, a son Glen Ward of Tulia, step-sons Antwan, Daryl, and Darwin Goodley, his step mother Rosie Taylor, brothers Michael Lord Taylor (Jacqueline), of Amarillo, TX Reginald Brown of Houston, TX, Quincy Taylor (Christina), Rodney Alexander of Houston, TX, and sister Rhonda Alexander of Arlington, twelve grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
